3: IT’S A FREE COUNTRY: The Limitations and Responsibilities of Freedom
When we think or say “America: land or the brave and free” or “It’s a free country! I can do what I want,” what does it mean to “be free”? This discussion will explore questions on freedom: How do we define, value, and experience freedom personally and in community?
In this conversation Ann Su will explore choices that come with freedom and what are the responsibilities that accompany those choices? How does this concept of “freedom” play out in a diverse, democratic society?
Does everyone have access to freedom in the same way?
In this conversation, Ann Su, a public interest attorney, adjunct assistant professor at Portland State University, and diversity and leadership consultant.
Rockford Grange doors open and soup's on at 5:30 pm. Conversation begins at 6:30 pm.
