PLEASE JOIN US for four thought-provoking conversations provided in partnership with Oregon Humanities Conversation Project whose goal is to connect people to ideas and to each other, not to push an agenda or arrive at consensus. Conversation is a powerful medium to invite our community’s diverse perspectives and explore challenging questions. Hope you can join in!!
4: GOOD FOOD, BAD FOOD: Agricultural, Ethics and Personal Choice
Oregon boasts a multibillion-dollar agricultural economy that includes both industrial and small-scale community-based agriculture (e.g., CSAs, farmers’ markets, and community gardens). Kristy Athens, author of Get Your Pitchfork On! The Real Dirt on Country Living and TEDx Talk speaker on food systems, will focus conversation on our efforts and choices to nurture community and local and autonomous food systems. Are these choices as consequential as consumers would like them to be? Does “voting with your dollars” significantly shape our agricultural systems?.
Rockford Grange doors open and soup's on at 5:30 pm. Conversation begins at 6:30 pm.
$5.00 suggested donation for conversation; no one turned away for lack of funds
